Projektbeschreibung

Im EU-kofinanzierten Interreg-Projekt „CONNATURALP“ (CONecting NATURe and heALth in the AlPs) arbeiten Partner aus Italien und Österreich gemeinsam an der Erforschung der Vernetzung von Natur, Gesundheit und Biodiversität in den Alpen. Durch einen ganzheitlichen Ansatz (One Health) soll die Gesundheit der Menschen sowie die Gesundheit von Ökosystemen gefördert werden und dadurch die Artenvielfalt in den Projektgebieten geschützt werden. Dieser Ansatz wird durch zwei verschiedene klinische Studien, die von hochkarätigen Universitäten in Italien und Österreich durchgeführt werden, unterstrichen – sowohl die PMU Salzburg als auch die Universitäten von Padua und Triest werden bestimmten Forschungsfragen nachgehen. Die Studien werden in den ausgewählten Schutzgebieten, jeweils ein Nationalpark sowie ein Biosphärenpark in Italien und Österreich, umgesetzt und untersuchen einerseits die Auswirkungen von naturbasierten Therapien (Waldbaden, geführten Wanderungen, etc.) auf die Ökosysteme und andererseits die Wirkung von artenreichen Lebensräumen auf bestimmte Gesundheitsaspekte. Das Projekt beschäftigt sich auch mit dem umweltfreundlichen Verhalten der Studienteilnehmenden sowie anderen Menschen in den Studiengebieten und wie sich diese unterscheiden. Hierfür werden in den Studiengebieten Umfragen durchgeführt. Im Rahmen dieses EU-Förderprojektes wird auch wieder ein „Heilkraft der Alpen“-Kongress im Lungau ausgerichtet sowie Folgeveranstaltungen organisiert. Im Zuge dieser Veranstaltungen werden neben unterschiedlichen Vorträgen und Workshops zum Thema auch die im Projekt umgesetzten Forschungstätigkeiten vorgestellt.

Project description

In the Eu-cofinanced Interreg project “CONNATURALP” (CONecting NATURe and heALth in the AlPs), partners from Italy and Austria are working together to explore the interconnectedness of nature, human health and biodiversity in the Alps. A holistic approach (One Health) aims to promote human health and the health of ecosystems, thereby protecting biodiversity in the project areas. This approach will be underlined by two different clinical studies carried out by top-class universities in Italy and Austria – both the Paracelsus Medical University of Salzburg and the Universities of Padua and Trieste will investigate specific research questions. The studies will be carried out in the selected protected areas, one national park and one biosphere park in Italy and Austria respectively, and will examine the effects of nature-based therapies (forest bathing, guided hikes, etc.) on the ecosystems on the one hand and the effect of habitats with a high biodiversity on certain aspects of health on the other. The project also deals with the pro-environmental behavior of the study participants and other people in the study areas and how these differ. Surveys are being conducted in the study areas for this purpose. As part of this EU-cofinanced project, another “Healing Power of the Alps” congress will be held in Lungau and follow-up events will be organized. In addition to various lectures and workshops on the topic, the research activities implemented in the project will also be presented at these events.
